Cellex-C Review
January 1, 2008Cellex-C, a high potency serum, was one of the first anti-aging serums to offer topical application of Vitamin C. Cellex-C contains a patented complex that serves to scavenge and neutralize skin-damaging “Free Radicals." The damage caused by Free Radicals is referred to as “oxidation” or loss of electrons. In turn, this may result in premature aging to the skin such as fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, loss of elasticity, and uneven texture.
Cellex-C High Potency Serum with L-Ascorbic Acid
Where do these pesky Free Radicals come from? Unfortunately from a variety of sources including oxygen, sunlight, environmental damage, stress, and cigarette smoke. Consequently, these unstable molecules react with important cellular components that can erode skin tissue. Good thing (for us skincare aficionados!) it was discovered there are antioxidants, such as Vitamin C, that defend against this harm. Vitamin C is a potent Antioxidant that can help repair the damaging effects that free radicals cause to the skin. Additionally, studies show topical use of Vitamin C may increase Collagen synthesis and serve as a form of sun protection. However, the use of Vitamin C in skincare products is tricky. This type of acid becomes unstable in the presence of air and, subsequently, negates its effect on the skin. Topical Vitamin C should be in the form of L-Ascorbic Acid, as well as in a sufficient concentration, to serve as an effective Antioxidant in skincare products. Not only does Cellex-C contain the correct L-Ascorbic Acid state in an ample 10% concentration, this serum also boasts a patented formula. This complex includes L-Tyrosoine, Zinc Sulphate, Hylauronic Acid, and Bioflavonoids which, when combined with Ascorbic Acid, may help to regenerate Collagen.
With regular use of Cellex-C, this Vitamin C enthusiast, noticed her skin seemed smoother and firmer, with a noticeable improvement in tone and fine lines. Since Cellex-C is a potent serum, it may not be suitable for sensitive skin. Although high in price, this product requires only a small application and should last for a couple of months. My Beauty Beat recommends that our Beauty Beat readers use an antioxidant, such as Vitamin C, daily under Sunscreen to improve damaged skin and further protect it from the sun.
Price: $90 for 30 ml.
