Foaming Face Wash is a facial cleanser from the Olay skincare line. This cleanser is intended for all skin types. As advertised, Foaming Face Wash “deep cleans, thoroughly removing dirt, oil and makeup without over drying. Suitable for all skin types, this powerful yet gentle Olay cleanser contains oil-free moisturizers and helps your skin retain its own natural moisture.”

Olay Foaming Face Wash Components

This facial cleanser is soap-free and highly moisturizing. As always, My Beauty Beat recommends keeping Soap as far away from the face as an annoying co-worker. The use of Soap as a facial cleanser may be unnecessarily harsh for the skin and strip it of its natural oils. This face wash contains a high concentration of Glycerin, a natural component that is part of the skin’s natural Lipid structure. Glycerin is a humectant, which means it attracts moisture to the skin. By helping the skin to attract and retain its own natural moisture, Glycerin does not “sit” on top of the skin, but allows the skin to breathe while leaving it feeling soft. Glycerin is one of My Beauty Beat’s favorite ingredients. Conversely, this cleanser also contains, albeit in a much smaller concentration, one of our disliked ingredients, Sodium Laureth Sulfate. This type of “surfactant” serves as inexpensive yet effective foamer, and is found in many personal care products. Although low on our popularity list of favored ingredients, for a drugstore item with such a high concentration of glycerin, think can still clean with pure thoughts!

Foaming Face Wash has a rich, foamy consistency with a pleasant scent. This facial cleanser thoroughly cleans the skin without drying, and also removes makeup (including mascara!) without irritating the eyes. Considering the amount of time a face cleanser actually stays on the face, when find a decent drugstore brand, is it really worth it to purchase an expensive one? Discussion to follow on CNN Live..
