Exfoliate your Lips? Better try Best Lip Ointments

Did you ever hear that putting scotch tape on your lips is a quick (and inexpensive!) way to exfoliate them?  I tried this many times- particularly over and over again out of boredom when things were slow at my former job (an interesting habit to watch I suppose!)-but never felt the benefits from it.  Instead, here are my top 2 picks for lip ointments:

elizabeth arden eight hour creamElizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

Been using this for over 10 years (wonder how many Eight Hours that is!!).  Would categorize it as “heavy” and “sticky” but works wonders to soothe and moisturize the lips.  Great to apply at night.  This is the Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant.  There is also a different one for a body moisturizer.

 Aquaphor Healing Ointment

Prefer to buy in the tube version and carry around all day.  Also works great to moisturize and “heal” dry lips but without the heaviness of Eight Hour Cream.

Not sure if the lip area does need exfoliation or is that just a product gimmick?  So, as someone who is NEVER without a lip moisturizer (definitely in top 5 list of things to bring to a deserted island!), feel it is best to apply a lip ointment.  I prefer ointments to balms, creams, sticks since the latter ones tend to still leave my lips dry.
