Beauty Beat Spotlight on: Tracie Martyn
In the recent Spring 2008 New York Times Style Magazine section, there was an article on Tracie Martyn, referred to as the “A-List Skin Care Expert.” Tracie Martyn operates a high-end salon in New York and has a successful skin care line. Her signature “Resculpting Facial” includes electro-stimulation to serve as a “mini-lift without the downtime.” Ms. Martyn is well known “beauty guru” to the stars. This mere mortal did try a series of her signature facial a while back (alas not by the Queen herself) but by a very capable and knowledgeable technician. Her impressive roster of celebrity clientele, including Susan Sarandon, Madonna, and Renee Zellweger, seem to swear by these facials in terms of providing tightening and contouring to the skin. I very much wanted to “swear” by it too but, although I did see some improvement, it did not leave me in a state of awe. Maybe I needed to go more frequently but it is a pricey undertaking to keep up at a few hundred dollars a pop per facial.
Nevertheless, I LOVE her skin care product line. Particularly the Enzyme Exfoliant and Amla Purifying Cleanser. Tracie Martyn Enzyme Exfoliant has an alluring scent and does a great job in gently exfoliating the skin without irritation. Tracie Martyn Amla Purifying Cleanser cleanser contains Amla (rich in Vitamin C), Green Papaya Enzymes, the Indian spice Curcumine (an anti-inflammatory) and Salicylic Acid. Also love the intoxicating scent of this product as well! Think Ms. Martyn has some of the best aromatic products on the market (and most effective).
